Why We Struggle with Weight

In this, the maiden episode, I thought it would make sense to introduce the cornerstone of my philosophy about weight and weight loss. What is the relationship between health and weight loss, but more importantly…how should we define health.
We explore diet concepts, including tracking macros and whether this helps us achieve the ultimate goals of freedom, vitality and sustainability. And how my tween daughter forever shaped how I view diets.
Is there a relationship between mental, emotional, physical health and nutrition?
And how the popular definition of ‘self-care’ appears to be more focused on the external look than the internal well-being. What are we truly investing in?

April 2, 2019 at 9:10 amTremendous first episode Cassandra. Informative, energetic, concise, and refreshing. I love how you simply exposed the differences between fitness and health. The commentary about refusing to introduce weight loss “hacks” to your daughter was especially eye opening!

April 4, 2019 at 3:37 pmHi Glen,
IF you decide that you want to take the calorie counting/Macro route, I would suggest speaking to a nutritionist or dietician. If you are planning on restricting your caloric intake, there are many factors to consider to make sure you are not also depriving yourself of much needed nutritional value. The point of this show is to nudge people in the direction of prioritizing health….i.e. vegetables, fruit, sleep, water, exercise, over counting calories. And if you focus on health, the natural side-affect will be fat loss and a healthy physique!
